Nestled in the rolling countryside of Ooltewah, Tennessee, Margaret’s at Benton Farms is a peaceful retreat designed for intimate gatherings, private events, and reconnecting with nature. Situated on a 65-acre portion of the historic Benton family farm, Margaret’s offers a picturesque escape where guests can unwind, recharge, and experience the beauty of rural Tennessee.


While our accommodations provide comfortable overnight stays for up to eight guests, our spacious indoor and outdoor settings can host retreats, workshops, and special events for up to 150 attendees. Whether you're planning a quiet getaway, a group retreat, or an outdoor celebration, Margaret’s at Benton Farms offers a welcoming atmosphere rich in history, charm, and natural beauty.


Our History

Purchased in 1955, Benton Farms was the dream of Scottie and Margaret Benton. Together, they worked to clear and improve the land which would soon become a Black Angus beef cattle farm as well as home to Margaret's beloved horses. Following Margaret's passing at the age of 93 in 2023, Lisa, Scottie and Margaret's youngest daughter, worked to open the family home as the retreat it is today, Margaret's at Benton Farms.

Margaret’s at Benton Farms was founded with a vision of preserving family traditions while creating a warm and inviting space for modern guests. The property has been in the Benton family for generations, and today, it continues to honor that legacy by offering a place where people can gather, celebrate, and experience the simple joys of country living.


Our farm features luxurious accommodations, breathtaking mountain views, and unique farm experiences. From our themed guest rooms to our expansive wildflower garden and apiary, every corner of Margaret’s is designed to foster relaxation, connection, and inspiration.


Accommodations with Character

Each of our four beautifully designed guest rooms reflects the heart and soul of our farm, featuring plush Amish queen beds, rustic decor, and scenic views. Whether you prefer a private retreat or a shared experience, our rooms offer a comfortable and charming stay in the countryside.


  • The Kokomo – A horse-themed room inspired by Margaret’s prized Tennessee Walking Horse, featuring two lavish queen beds and a private bath with a sunken tub.
  • The Dakota – Named after one of Margaret’s beloved Australian Shepherds, this dog-themed room boasts mountain views, two queen beds, and a shared bath.
  • The Dogwood – A floral-inspired retreat with farm views, two cozy Amish queen beds, and a private bath.
  • The Outdoorsman – A nature-lover’s haven with mountain views, two Amish queen beds, and a shared bath.


Our Dining

At Margaret's at Benton Farms, we believe that dining should be an experience to remember. Not made by chef's or imported from afar, but made on site by Lisa, vested with years of practice raising her family and hosting friends regularly. Each bite will be filled with love and is designed to bring comfort and joy to your time at Margaret's.

Margaret’s at Benton Farms is more than a retreat—it’s an experience. Guests are encouraged to explore our walking trails, unwind by the firepit, or soak in the beauty of our wildflower garden.


  • Wildflower Garden – Stroll through 3,600 square feet of native wildflowers, take photos, or book a You-Pick bouquet session to create a custom arrangement to take home.
  • Apiary – Our future honeybee farm, set to expand in the coming years, offers a quiet sitting area where guests can observe the bees and learn about their vital role in our ecosystem.
  • Patio & Firepit – A serene, lighted gathering space for storytelling, music, or simply enjoying the peaceful countryside.
  • Outdoor Events & Gatherings – Our property can accommodate intimate indoor gatherings of up to 40 guests and outdoor events of up to 150. Whether you're hosting a retreat, workshop, or celebration, we provide the perfect setting.


Retreats & Private Events

Margaret’s at Benton Farms is an exclusive event venue, not a bed and breakfast. We offer fully immersive experiences designed for corporate retreats, wellness weekends, and small group gatherings. Packages may include overnight stays, farm-to-table meals, and curated activities to create a truly memorable retreat.
